This page is meant to answer the questions I commonly see about Deoxynn. They're sorted by date, so if a question gets a new answer, it will be bumped.

What are your current thoughts about release locations?

I want to make this clear: I do not support the current internet censorship that is currently going on.

I still hope I can release Deoxynn on a major platform like Steam. With how things are looking now, it might not get off the ground that well if I go with that option.

I mentioned before that the potential battle beta for Deoxynn wiould be a download; I want to expand on that by saying my current plan for this version is as a Google Drive download. After that, I'll look at whatever platform alternatives exist and go from there. I might end up adding my game to multiple platforms. I don't know what's going to happen at this point, but I'm hoping for the best.

Is Deoxynn cancelled?

No, Deoxynn is not cancelled. I am still working on it. However, being a college student and the only person on the project, my efforts are quite slow. Rest assured, though, I am doing the best I can on the project.

Do you want a team to work on this game?

As things currently stand, a team for Deoxynn is not within the budget. Keep in mind, I am making this of my own volition, without any studio or business or whatever. I will let you know if this information changes.

If information from the Kristal version conflicts in the new version...

The new version is the canon version. The Kristal version is outdated, so take whatever is in there with a grain of salt.

What are your plans for release?

First, I hope to be able to release a battle beta on social medias. This would simply be a download for a version with only a number of battles. I then want to release an actual demo, being all of Act 1, as that is what the Kristal version covers. I then hope to release Act 2 as a paid copy, with Acts 3-5 and Epilogue as free updates to the paid version.

As for where I want to release it? I'll likely start with PC (Windows and Linux) only, on Steam. I do eventually want to release the game on consoles as well (with minor differences), but the issue with that currently is... I don't own any console dev kits. I'll also see what I can do with a potential mobile release, but things aren't looking bright with that idea.

Are you allowed to sell this game?

For those of you who are uninitiated with the world of Europaelis, the original version of Deoxynn was released on the Kristal fangame engine. However, the new version will be shed of all material that already existed in that engine, as well as the game it emulates. Everything will be completely original and mine, so I will be able to release the game paid.

Do you have a price in mind?

I want to get more of the game developed before I do the math.

How much of the story will differ?

The basic premise, as well as most of the area features, will remain the same. However, alongside the stripping of Kristal, there will still be differences in terms of mechanics, specific locations, and even the characters themselves. I estimate, without taking map layout, sprites, and puzzles into consideration, that the game will be ~60% accurate to the Kristal release.
